Ingredients
Base
- A handful of frozen rice cakes, maybe 1 cup. I do as much as I can eat.
Sauce
- About 2/3 cup of water
- 1 tbsp gochujang
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp gochugaru
- 1 tsp garlic (fresh or powder, optional)
- 1-2 tbsp sugar
- Cheese cubes (any cheese will do, I use babybel. Optional)
Garnish
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- A sprinkle of sesame seeds
- A sprinkle of chopped green onions
Directions
- Add all sauce ingredients to a pan without the cheese on medium to high heat.
- Add rice cakes.
- Stir until the sauce is almost desired consistency and rice cakes seem fairly cooked through. About 5-7 min.
- Lower the heat, add cheese and cover for additional 3 minutes for cheese to melt.
- Dump into a bowl.
- Add garnish and enjoy immediately.
