Hot Milk Cake

A very easy sponge cake that would be consumed in a matter of seconds.

  1. Pre-heat the oven 350 F. Grease 9x13" pan or alternatively line it with parchment paper.
  2. Heat whole milk with butter until bubbling and butter is melted, about 5 minutes.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. In another bowl, mix sugar and eggs until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add flour mix to egg mix, mix on low until just incorporated.
  6. Still mixing, add hot butter-milk mixture and vanilla extract, stir until combined.
  7. Pour batter into the baking pan, bake 350 F about 30 minutes until lightly browned on the outside.
  8. Let cool completely on a rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
